Hand Applique Workshop with David Taylor

Date: Saturday May 1, 2010 from 9 AM till 1 PM 

Location: Jardins de Magali, Lauris 

Class cost: $60 Euros per student (10 maximum), includes pattern and fabric kit 

This workshop will show how to make pictorial quilts using simple applique shapes and no points using my "Side-by-Side" applique technique. The class will also cover how to adapt a photograph into a simple wall quilt and how to get beautiful details from simple shapes and by choosing the right fabrics. Kit includes pattern and all the fabrics necessary to complete an 18” x 20” quilt block. 

Students should bring:
Pencil and eraser
Paper scissor
Fabric scissor
Scotch tape
Liquid or spray starch
Small nylon artist’s paint brush 

Hand-sewing needle: I use John James Gold’n Glide #10 

Hand-sewing thread: I use Gutermann 50 wt. cotton Straight pins for applique
